Overview The Body Structures team pioneers in engineering the frontiers of vehicle architecture in the automotive industry. You will be part of the team to engineer and solve problems in the vehicle structure from design concept to vehicle delivery and beyond. You will leverage first principles to develop methods to achieve robustness in the structural integrity of the vehicle. Our team focuses on continual improvement beyond Start-of-Production to create the best product for a sustainable future.
What To Expect The Body Structures team engineering the frontiers of vehicle architecture in the automotive industry. You will be part of the team to engineer and solve problems in the vehicle structure from design concept to vehicle delivery and beyond. You will leverage first principles approach to develop methods to achieve robustness in the structural integrity of the vehicle.
What You'll Do
Design and develop structural components, system requirements and specifications to achieve best-in-class structural, NVH and crash performance from conceptualization to mass production
Create vehicle-aligned component and system targets for function, cost, weight and investment
Optimize the concepts and designs with analytical and physical assessments, ensuring conformance to federal regulations governing assigned systems
Interface with Tesla and Supplier manufacturing to develop components that are optimized for the production environment
Research reliability failure physics and apply them to designing accelerated test methods to represent field behaviors
Take ownership of reliability structural requirements to develop test plans and work internally and externally to ensure targets are met on schedule
What You'll Bring
Ability to have fun in resolving engineering problems
Ability to thrive with ambiguity in design direction and conditions
Proven knowledge and application of engineering fundamentals to root cause and solve complex engineering challenges
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
Preferred minimum of 1 full development life cycle through design, development, release and launch with substantial system responsibility
Preferred proficiency in computer aided design software (e.g. CATIA)

Expected Compensation $92,720 - $159,600/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
