Position Overview:
This position performs diagnostic ultrasound imaging, including invasive and non-invasive procedures such as routine OB/GYN, vascular (venous and arterial), abdomen, small body parts, intra-cavity, and color Doppler. The technologist is responsible for patient safety, comfort, and accurate imaging, demonstrating strong critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and professionalism. Must effectively manage inpatient, ED, and outpatient workflow while multitasking in a high-demand environment.
Key Responsibilities:
60% : Produce high-quality diagnostic images by selecting appropriate technical factors, equipment, and transducer settings. Verify patient orders, obtain history, explain procedures, and address patient concerns. Use independent judgment to differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
20% : Independently operate sonographic equipment, communicate findings, manage daily department operations, maintain equipment, and ensure quality assessment (QA). Maintain a clean, organized workspace.
20% : Perform proper sterilization techniques, maintain accurate documentation in paper and electronic formats, and comply with all Joint Commission, federal, state, and local regulations.
Requirements:
2+ years of experience – Required
BLS (AHA) – Required
ARDMS (RVT registration) – Required
Travel experience – Highly preferred
GE Ultrasound experience – Required
Proficiency in General Ultrasound, Breast, and Vascular – Required
