Summary

– As a Wood Door Purchasing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in sourcing and acquiring high-quality wood doors for architectural projects. Your expertise in the selection and accurate ordering of wood doors will contribute to the successful completion of CIH’s mission. You will collaborate with suppliers and internal team members including detailers, sales, and project management to ensure the desired outcome and appropriate products on site while meeting all design, building code, and quality standards.

The Wood Door Purchasing Specialist is responsible and accountable for:

Coordinate with and maintain a relationship with all wood door suppliers. Evaluate and have a thorough understanding of supplier capabilities, product quality, and delivery timelines to make informed procurement decisions and recommendations. Collaborate with detailers, sales, and project managers to understand unique circumstances and make recommendations or contributions towards a solution. Assist in the negotiation of pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost-effective solutions without compromising quality. Create and manage purchase orders, ensure accurate documentation of orders, specifications, and acknowledgements. Enter wood door orders into various order entry systems accurately and on schedule. Respond to all requests for further information from vendors on submitted PO’s. Conduct periodic supplier performance evaluation and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies related to architectural wood doors. Essential Functions

5+ years of architectural wood door purchasing across various major suppliers Strong knowledge of architectural wood door materials, finishes, and applications Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain strong quality while entering PO’s in a timely manner Understanding and experience with FSC standards preferred Clear communication, active listening skills Pre-employment background/drug screening
