A growing cyber security consulting firm is seeking a Network Security Engineer with strong experience in both network engineering and cybersecurity to support enterprise infrastructure and threat defense operations. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and defending secure network architectures, with an emphasis on threat detection, analysis, and response. You’ll work closely with SOC teams and provide strategic guidance on network-related security operations, tools, and protocols. Location:
On-site at Client HQ – Washington, DC (Hybrid: 3 days per week) Clearance:
Public trust or ability to obtain one Responsibilities
Design and maintain secure network architectures and protocols Analyze network traffic and lead mitigation of security threats Guide SOC teams on network-related issues and incidents Utilize tools such as Microsoft Sentinel, Cisco Secure Web Appliances, CrowdStrike, Qualys, Cloudflare, and CyberArk Mentor junior engineers and contribute to overall network defense strategy Qualifications
5+ years in network engineering, with a strong security focus Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field One or more certifications: CCNP, CISSP, CEH, Security+, Network+ Experience with Microsoft Security tools and Cisco Secure Web Appliance Strong communication and leadership skills
