Job Title: Traveling Concrete Laborer
Job Description
Join our team of foundation construction workers to build heavy capacity scale foundations. Your work will include excavating the foundation, grading, erecting forms and rebar, finishing concrete, and operating power tools and equipment. As a trainee or laborer with limited experience in general construction, you will complete tasks safely and effectively under the guidance of a job foreman. You are responsible for providing transportation to the Fairbanks construction office and may travel with the crew in company vehicles.
Responsibilities
Perform general grading, debris hauling, and loading and unloading of supplies.
Assist in changing attachments on heavy equipment.
Familiarize yourself with power tools such as saws, drills, and impact hammers.
Aid in erecting forms, wall panels, rebar placement, snap ties, and turn buckles.
Understand and apply fastening systems, including proper nailing, drill and wedge anchors, diagonal bracing, and double wall forming.
Utilize basic math and measuring skills, including reading and using a tape measure.
Use and understand proper PPE, including safety shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, vest, and gloves.
Assist in concrete placement, chute operation, raking, screeding, and vibration.
Contribute to concrete finishing using hand floats, edgers, and long tools such as bull floats, fresnos, funny trowels, metal trowels, and darbies.
Participate in metal work, including torching and cutting, basic welding, and grinding.
Essential Skills
Experience in construction and general labor.
Ability to install and work with carpentry, HVAC, concrete, and blueprints.
Proficiency with hand tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Basic familiarization with power tools.
Knowledge of fastening systems.
Basic math and measuring skills.
Understanding of proper PPE usage.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
