A Brief Overview

Patient Scheduler II is responsible for pre-registering and scheduling moderately complex procedures and coordinating multiple resources for patient services. The purpose of this position is to schedule patient appointments for designated areas according to Tidelands Health protocols. Provides courteous, professional and efficient service to patients and providers. Responsible for accurately completing registration process for all patients including collection of co-payments and patient demographic information.

What you will do

Assures that patients have all the information they need so that they will arrive on time and prepared for their procedures and that the hospital has all the information required to bill properly for its services.

Receives requests to schedule procedures from physician offices and patients and schedules the procedure according to the availability of the various departments.

Provides accurate information so that all departments may view and print the schedule for the appointments daily and maintains open communication with hospital departments regarding schedule changes.

Performs various administrative support duties for department/work location. Opens, sorts and distributes all types of mail and correspondence as is necessary and assigned.

Education Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience Qualifications

At least two (2) years of related customer facing experience, preferably in healthcare.

Call center, patient scheduling and/or physician front-office experience Preferred

Skills and Abilities

Ability to interact successfully with the public. Ability to perform effectively despite sudden deadlines and changing priorities; maintaining personal composure in high stress situations.

Ability to demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills required to interact with patients, patients' families/visitors and clinical staff.

Ability to perform with a high degree of accuracy and with meticulous attention to detail. Demonstrate a strong ability to use initiative and judgment and to identify, analyze and solve problems.

Demonstrated understanding of basic medical terminology preferred
