We are currently seeking a Survey Technician for our Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, New York or Maryland offices. What You'll Do
The Survey Technician will work as part of a 2 or 3-person team performing land surveying measurements for topographic mapping, boundary surveys, and construction layout. The Technician role is primarily to serve as an assistant to the team leader. Participate in daily briefings about project requirements and progress updates. Load/unload vehicle with required equipment and tools for the day's activities. Charge equipment as needed. Provide care/maintenance for survey equipment. Learn operation of survey equipment. Monitor daily supplies in vehicles and re-stock as needed. Inform crew leader of problems or project related observations. Assist crew leader with data management and computer transfer. Successfully complete required safety trainings and perform work in accordance with provided handbook and training protocols. What You'll Bring
HS Diploma or GED. Valid Driver's License. 2 years of surveying experience or comparable education preferred. Ability to operate survey equipment preferred. Ability to read and interpret maps and plans. Ability to perform basic computations using calculator or hand-held computer. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for the effective engagement of the team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer operation. Ability to traverse uneven terrain. Ability to carry 50-70 pounds of equipment (pack into and out of job sites). Ability to work continuously in varied weather conditions including cold winters and hot humid summer days. Ability to work out-of-town for extended periods of time. Ability to work 40 hours or more per week as needed. Ability to provide and wear proper attire. Why PRIME AE?
