Leveraging our team’s expertise in antibody discovery and engineering, we have created a robust pipeline of differentiated investigational therapeutic candidates for well-validated targets. Reporting to the Director, Commercial Operations, the Manager, Data Strategy and Operations will be critical in ensuring our commercial data sets and operations meet the needs to support Viridian’s first commercial product launch. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of critical commercial pharmaceutical sales and operational data. This role requires a strong technical background in SQL, extensive experience with various healthcare commercial data sets, and a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical commercial landscape. The role not only supports operational activities but also acts as a strategic thought partner in supporting data-driven decision-making across sales, marketing, market access, and commercial operations. This role is based in our Waltham, MA headquarters. Our office-based employees are required to work in the office three (3) days a week. Responsibilities
Manage the acquisition, integration, and validation of diverse commercial pharmaceutical data sets, including but not limited to:
Internal transactional sales datasets:
867 (sales transactions from SD), 852 (inventory movement), ex-factory sales (sell in to SD). Claims data:
Processing and analyzing medical and pharmacy claims for insights into patient journeys and treatment patterns. Syndicated data (e.g., Xponent, DDD):
Integrating and leveraging syndicated data for market understanding, prescriber behavior, and sales force effectiveness. Specialty Pharmacy data:
Managing data from specialty pharmacies for complex therapies. HUB data:
Tokenized patient level data, for those that enroll in Viridian HUB Managed Care/Payer data:
Incorporating data related to formularies, access, and reimbursement. Internal Field and Marketing data:
Ensuring consistency and accuracy of data feeds from internal systems such as CRM and other marketing deliverables. Act as a key thought partner who collaborates cross functionally to tie commercial strategy to data needs, ensuring the data, processes, and calculations all perform as expected. Monitor data quality, identify data discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to ensure data accuracy and completeness. Serve as a key point of contact between Sales Operations, Analytics, and Field Effectiveness to support data-related inquiries, and translate complex data findings into clear and concise feedback. Support the development, maintenance, and overall data stewardship of the commercial data warehouse processes, ensuring high quality data delivery in alignment with business stakeholders and downstream system requirements. Lead strategic ownership of MDM processes and business rules to establish and maintain a source of truth for customer alignments and affiliations, enabling consistent, reliable data across commercial operations. Implement and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal standards. Maintain inquiry support, tracking, and relationships with external trade partners (3PL, SP, SD, HUB), ensuring timely follow ups and updates to cross functional team members. Leverage SQL queries and scripts for data extraction, data review, and additional adhoc analytics as needed or requested from business partners. Troubleshoot data-related issues and provide timely resolutions. Document data processes, definitions, and data flows, ensuring commercial leadership alignment. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in commercial data management and pharmaceutical analytics. Contribute to the continuous improvement of data management processes and tools. Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred (MBA or related field)), with 5+ years of progressive experience in commercial operations, business analytics, or data/computer science in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry Strong understanding and experience working with pharmaceutical commercial data sets, such as SP, SD, HUB, Claims (APLD), Syndicated data sets (DDD, Xponent), etc. Knowledge and experience supporting system integrations with external partners and end user applications to support business processes (DCRs, customer affiliations, marketing data sets, Veeva CRM activity, KPI reporting) Experienced in pharmaceutical master data management (MDM) processes and systems, with focus on industry-best practices for system integrations, data stewardship, data quality, and field force execution. Proficient in SQL for data manipulation, querying, and experience cloud based data platforms such as databricks Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex processes into non-technical simple terms Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to handle multiple tasks Strong commitment to ethical standards Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.) Ability to travel up to 10% The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience Benefits
