The Field Sales team works with small and mid-sized business owners to create long-term relationships, understand their business and B2B wallet needs, and help identify the right products to optimize rewards and benefits. We are committed to helping customers manage finances more efficiently and to becoming a trusted advisor and concierge for small and mid-sized business owners. This role is field-based and requires accessibility, adaptability, and presence in local communities. Responsibilities
Use insight and consultative selling to teach prospective customers how payment solutions (purchasing, travel, and electronic accounts payable) can positively impact their business Learn local small and mid-sized business purchasing needs and behaviors Analyze total business spend to identify opportunities to leverage Capital One products and services Build broad and technical product knowledge and understand client-side processes to align with our solutions Assist businesses in integrating our products into purchasing platforms and bookkeeping software Maintain and update CRM with sales calls, pipelines, and closed deals to ensure data accuracy Acquire net new customers through proactive prospecting; this is not a referral-based sales model Initiate and participate in educational and networking events Establish relationships with Centers of Influence to engage local business communities Drive incremental card volume with new clients Competencies
Project and process management, interpersonal influence, networking, project ownership, and workflow management Excellent needs-based oral presentation skills Ability to secure appointments directly with clients and new prospects Strong organizational, interpersonal, telephone, and PC skills Proven experience hunting for net new business in the field Basic Qualifications
At least 3 years of sales experience Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree 5 years of outside customer sales experience as an individual contributor, driving new acquisition and managing a client portfolio 1 year of experience working with small and mid-sized business customers 1 year of experience in the financial industry Proficiency using Salesforce.com Proficiency using Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail) Employment and benefits : Capital One is an equal opportunity employer.
