About This Opportunity This role is responsible for driving engineering excellence, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering innovation across product development, process improvement, and manufacturing support. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, an understanding of medical device manufacturing, and a proven track record of cross-functional collaboration. This position plays a critical role in aligning engineering initiatives with business objectives, enhancing operational efficiency, and delivering high-quality products to our clients. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, attention to detail, and willingness to be hands-on when required who wants to grow professionally with high internal expectations. Responsibilities
Ownership of Base Business Engineering, Estimating, and New Product Introductions Strategic Oversight Lead project planning and execution, including design for manufacturability, quoting, budgeting, and capital planning. Evaluate new business opportunities and support site selection based on resources and strategic fit. Develop investment strategies to ensure equipment capacity meets future demand. Technology & Innovation Research and implement new technologies to improve efficiency, automation, and product quality. Introduce new hardware/software solutions to enhance engineering capabilities. Operational Excellence Drive cost savings and process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, and DMAIC methodologies. Standardize processes and insource operations to optimize spend and performance. Engineering Governance Ensure effective use of project management tools and engineering systems. Oversee documentation and procedures to support consistent, compliant operations. Collaboration & Support Develop internal talent and provide mentorship Provide technical guidance across manufacturing processes and supplier development. Communicate clearly with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to resolve engineering issues and align priorities. Team Leadership Manage hiring, development, and performance of engineering staff. Foster engagement and teamwork while aligning talent with business needs. Compliance & Quality Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards including FDA, QMS, and EMS. Promote a culture of excellence in safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Requirements
Engineering or bachelor’s degree in a technical field. MBA preferred but not required. 10 years of work experience in similar technical roles including medical device manufacturing required Manufacturing engineering team direct-report management experience required. Experience in medical device industry, metals machining, sheet metal fabrication, and sub-processing such as assembly, powder coat, and metal finishing, welding, laser cutting, and electrical harness assembly. Proven experience in new product introduction required Experience implementing lean manufacturing processes. Experience in customer-facing interactions, particularly providing technical expertise Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment Experience with quoting, cost analysis, and capital expenditure rationale is strongly preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Working knowledge of ISO and FDA regulations and GD&T Seniority level
