Vice President of Sales – Co-Man & Retail About the Company Water Lilies Food, LLC is a private equity-backed manufacturer and distributor of premium Asian-inspired food. Established for 30 years, the Company moved in 2020 to a new state-of-the-art facility in Bay Shore, NY (Suffolk County Long Island) and is experiencing rapid growth. We are developing and supplying products for some of the leading retailers, wholesalers, and branded Asian-appetizer businesses. Job Summary The Director of Sales will report directly to the Vice President of Sales – Co-Man & Retail and play a critical role in executing Water Lilies’ retail & co-manufacturing growth strategy. This individual will focus on growing distribution, strengthening key retail partnerships, and achieving aggressive revenue targets through private label and control brand initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven sales leader with deep experience in the frozen food industry, capable of balancing strategic account management with tactical execution. Approximately 25-30% of travel is expected. Water Lilies Food, LLC is seeking passionate, career-minded individuals who want to grow with us and make a tangible impact in an expanding category. Responsibilities
Support the VP of Sales in executing the go-to-market strategy focused on private label and controlling brand growth across national and regional retail channels & co-manufacturing partners, especially Clubs, Values and Convenience Channels. Develop and maintain direct relationships with key retail customers and actively prospect new business opportunities. Partner closely with cross-functional teams (Product Development, Operations, Finance) to ensure seamless execution of customer programs. Prepare and deliver customized sales presentations supported by category data (IRI/Nielsen) that articulate the benefits of Water Lilies products. Manage the customer onboarding process from concept to commercialization, including timelines, pricing, and forecasting. Analyze market and customer data to drive fact-based decision-making and identify growth opportunities. Provide weekly updates to the VP of Sales on account status, sales forecasts, pricing discussions, and strategic opportunities. Maintain accurate records of customer communications, presentations, and agreements. Attend customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events as a brand ambassador. Monitor competitive activity and share insights with the broader team to inform strategy. Ensure alignment with company policies, processes, and financial objectives. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus. 5+ years of sales experience in the food industry with a strong background in frozen retail. Experience with private label and control brand sales is highly preferred. 5+ years of experience calling on national and regional club, value and convenience retailers is required. Strong analytical skills and comfort working with syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen). Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a results-driven mindset. Collaborative team player who is proactive, organized, and strategic. Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools. Physical Requirements
Travel frequently for customer meetings and trade events. Must be able to navigate office, manufacturing, and customer environments as needed. Move within the office to access office machinery and collaborate with colleagues.
