Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Medical Malpractice Defense Attorney at Zimmerman Law, P.C., located in Sacramento, CA. The attorney will be responsible for handling all aspects of medical malpractice defense litigation, including client consultations, case evaluations, deposition preparation, legal research, preparation of legal documents, court appearances, and negotiations. The role also involves providing legal advice to clients and collaborating with other attorneys and support staff.
What You’ll Do
Defend physicians, healthcare providers, and medical institutions in medical malpractice cases from inception through trial
Conduct and respond to discovery, take and defend depositions (including expert witnesses), and draft dispositive motions
Develop case strategy, retain and prepare expert witnesses, and handle all aspects of pretrial and trial work
Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and jury trials
Collaborate with partners, clients, insurers, and staff to achieve the best possible outcomes
What We’re Looking For
Admission to the state bar in good standing (or eligible for reciprocity)
Strong oral advocacy skills and courtroom presence
Ability to think strategically, write persuasively, and advocate with clarity and confidence
Comfort managing a dynamic caseload and working independently in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to integrity, professionalism, and responsive client service
