The

Head of Interconnection

will lead all aspects of grid access for our growing project pipeline. This position will be responsible for strategy, execution, and delivery across

CAISO, NV Energy, LADWP, Idaho, New Mexico, and Colorado . The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise with proven leadership to ensure Fervo's projects achieve timely and reliable interconnection. This role will report to the Head of Development.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute Fervo's interconnection strategy across CAISO, WECC, SPP, ERCOT, MISO, and PJM. Lead queue submissions, feasibility and system impact studies, deliverability assessments, and LGIA negotiations. Oversee technical analysis using PSS/E, PSLF, ASPEN, and PowerGEM TARA to validate system impacts and drive decisions. Build and lead a high-performing interconnection team, ensuring disciplined execution and proactive risk management. Partner with Development, Engineering, Construction, Finance, and Operations teams to align interconnection milestones with project schedules. Engage directly with ISO, utility, and regulatory stakeholders; represent Fervo in queue reform and transmission planning initiatives. Track and interpret market and policy changes across CAISO, NVE, LADWP, Idaho, New Mexico, and Colorado to inform strategy. Track interconnection securities and provide cash flow recommendations to management. Conduct due diligence to identify interconnection and transmission risks associated with potential projects and commercial transactions Required Qualifications

10+ years of interconnection or transmission project leadership, with

direct experience in CAISO and/or NV Energy

required. Demonstrated success navigating CAISO Phase I/II studies, deliverability assessments, and LGIA negotiations. Familiarity with interconnection processes in

LADWP, Idaho, New Mexico, and Colorado

strongly preferred. Proficiency with PSS/E, PSLF, ASPEN, and PowerGEM TARA. Proven ability to build, lead, and inspire technical teams. Exceptional communication skills with a track record of engaging effectively with utilities, regulators, and industry stakeholders. Experience with hybrid resources (solar + storage, geothermal, wind) and regional resource adequacy frameworks a plus. Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related /similar field.

Location

Fervo Energy is headquartered in Houston, TX, with growing offices in Oakland, CA, Golden, CO, Reno, NV, and Salt Lake City, UT. This position will be eligible for some hybrid work flexibility, but regular presence at the Houston Fervo office location will be required.
