N/A Brief Job Description:

The SSLC Director oversees the day-to-day operations of the SSLC, ensuring safe, quality services and a homelike living environment. Responsibilities include strategic direction, program administration, staff leadership, policy development, quality improvement, and collaboration with stakeholders. The role requires knowledge of ICF/IID, HHSC policies, and settlement agreements with the U.S. Department of Justice. Facility Context:

State Supported Living Centers serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are medically fragile or have behavioral challenges. Services include 24-hour residential care, behavioral health, medical, therapy, vocational programs, and family/community connections. Essential Job Functions (EJFs): Attend work regularly; may include shift changes or on-call requirements; overtime as needed. Administer SSLC operations, provide vision and strategic direction, and establish objectives. Maintain a appropriately configured workforce; supervise executive leadership and broader program areas. Direct policy development and service delivery innovation; ensure compliance with laws, rules, and HHSC policies; oversee ICF/IID certification and Settlement Agreement terms. Ensure health, safety, care, training and treatment align with best practices; oversee data, records, and quality improvements. Manage admissions and discharges in compliance with laws and protect resident civil rights; oversee Incident Management and family notifications for serious events. Oversee fiscal resources, repairs, and capital improvements; ensure cost-effective operations. Develop and manage partnerships with state and community stakeholders; represent SSLC in various settings and committees; respond to legislative inquiries. Contribute to senior management decisions and strategic planning; support disaster response or COOP as needed. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge of ICF/IID, TAC, HHSC policies, and DOJ Settlement Agreement. Ability to lead and supervise large teams; strong public administration and management skills. Experience with HHSC services, strategic planning, and operational leadership for large organizations. Ability to build partnerships with families, advocacy groups, public officials, and the media; effective written and spoken communication. Problem solving with complex, system-wide impact; ability to develop innovative services and policies. Basic computer skills; ability to establish objectives for service delivery in a residential setting. Registrations, Licensure or Certifications:

N/A Initial Screening Criteria: Bachelor’s degree and at least five (5) years of management experience in a residential facility serving individuals with IDD (or related healthcare/mental health services); OR Master’s degree and at least three (3) years of management experience in a similar setting. Experience developing and implementing operational plans for large organizations; experience ensuring quality services; managing multiple departments; developing policies. Additional Information: Applicants must pass fingerprint background checks, pre-employment drug screen, registry checks (CANRS, Nurse Aide, Medication Aide, Employee Misconduct, LEIE).
