Embedded Systems Engineer
As an Embedded Systems Engineer, you will own the architecture, development, and delivery of embedded firmware and electrical systems that power our innovative robotic kiosks. You will be at the forefront of developing firmware, overseeing the development of electrical systems, and ensuring a robust and scalable product by collaborating closely with our mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams. Responsibilities: Develop and write embedded firmware in C/C++. Own the development of electrical systems, including writing requirements and participating in design reviews. Collaborate with mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams to create a robust and scalable system. Perform root cause analysis and diagnose issues using tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes. Identify safety risks in firmware and set forth electrical requirements. Understand components, their functions, PCBs, RTOS, and Rust. Essential Skills: Proficiency in C and C++ programming. Experience with firmware development and robotics systems. Ability to conduct root cause analysis. Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. 5+ years of professional experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Experience with RTOS. Knowledge of Rust. Strong hobbyist experience in robotics can be considered. Work Environment: The office is located on the west side of Chicago in a dynamic start-up environment. You will be part of a small, passionate team on a mission to expand from 10 to 100 units in the field. The company offers hybrid flexibility, though the start-up nature may require on-site presence at times.
