Overview Zurich is currently looking for an AVP, General Liability Claims Manager. We’re seeking an inspiring and dynamic leader to guide and support a high-performing team of Managers and Claims Professionals within our General Liability Specialty Team. In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee claim operations across Captives, Excess & Surplus, Direct Markets, and Multinational programs.

They will also work on National Projects on behalf of the line of business and serve as a subject matter expert to the underwriting team regarding product developments or enhancements to provide support and guidance and ensure compliance with regulatory policies. The successful candidate will coordinate the work activities of the team and has responsibility for performance, development and coaching of staff to maximize contributions and drive employee development and operational improvements. This position has clear and distinct accountability for business results and manages internal and external customer relationships. Responsibilities • Lead and develop a high-performing General Liability Claims team across multiple programs and markets. • Partner with line-of-business AVPs to develop and implement strategic initiatives. • Represent the claims function in national projects and provide SME guidance to underwriting on product developments or enhancements. • Ensure regulatory compliance and effective risk management. • Coach, develop, and manage staff performance, shaping a culture of continuous improvement. • Oversee internal and external client relationships and drive business results. Basic Qualifications
Juris Doctor and 8+ years of experience in the Claims area OR Bachelor’s Degree and 9+ years of experience in the Claims area OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 11+ years of experience in the Claims area AND 3+ years of management experience Customer service experience Experience with Microsoft Office Knowledge of insurance legal statutes and procedures Travel 25% or more Preferred Qualifications
