The Manager, HR Business Partner (HRBP) at Aspen Aerogels partners with senior management to deploy HR strategies that support business goals across the Advanced Thermal Barrier Center (ATBC), Aspen Technology Center (ATC), and related global Technical Services and Sales teams. The role provides HR services to people leaders and employees, including talent acquisition, talent development, HR policy administration, employee relations, performance management, training, and employee engagement.
As a member of corporate HR, the HRBP collaborates to deliver HR services to client groups and to drive initiatives that align with Aspen's strategic objectives. The role also partners with on-site leaders to foster employee engagement.

Responsibilities
Partner with the Sr. Director of Human Resources in providing both strategic and operational HR support to ATBC, ATC, and the global Technical Services and Sales teams.
Serve as the primary HR contact for on-site and remote employees, supporting daily HR inquiries, transactional needs, onboarding, job changes, terminations, and related life cycle events with accuracy and responsiveness.
Provide strategic HR support to international employees in partnership with the Sr. Director of Human Resources and Aspen’s employer of record (EOR).
Partner with Corporate Human Resources and business leaders to drive the development of people leaders and employees in areas such as performance management, compensation, employee/team development, strategic HR planning, employee relations, training, HR policies and practices, organizational structure, culture, conflict resolution, talent management, and other issues affecting the work environment.
Collaborate with Corporate HR on organizational design and structure, including defining roles and responsibilities and creating job descriptions aligned with business needs.
Partner with on-site business leaders to drive employee engagement activities for the ATBC and ATC.
Drive employee performance management at all levels; ensure timely, high-quality evaluations and development plans; coach leaders through merit review to differentiate strong performers.
Provide guidance and coaching on EEO, FMLA, and Open-Door issues; facilitate investigations and resolution of employee concerns; anticipate problems and develop preventive actions.
Administer HR policies and programs for ATBC and ATC in accordance with corporate policies.
With Talent Acquisition, drive recruitment and selection processes for onsite staffing.
Consult with functional management teams on business strategies and provide innovative HR solutions to business issues.
Support engagement with local community leaders and resources to strengthen Aspen's partnerships.
Maintain accurate employee records in compliance with state and federal requirements and corporate procedures.
Partner with Corporate HR to train managers on HR topics and management practices.
Review and recommend policies and programs for client facilities.
Contribute to HR projects with Corporate HR.
Foster and maintain a diverse and inclusive culture.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications
BA/BS Degree and/or equivalent experience
HR certification preferred (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP)
10+ years of progressive HR experience, including both strategic HR business partnering and hands-on transactional HR support
Experience partnering with senior business leaders
Knowledgeable of employment laws and HR practices including compensation, performance management, recruiting and selection, employee relations and HRIS
Experience in a R&D or technical environment strongly preferred
Experience supporting international team members in collaboration with a third-party employer of record preferred
Exceptional consulting, coaching and feedback skills
Strong decision making and ability to manage multiple, complex demands
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
Ability to influence without formal authority by building positive relationships and partnerships
Exceptional presentation and facilitation skills
Excellent planning and organizing skills
Ability to address priorities and meet business deadlines
Solid understanding of database applications, web tools, and e-Learning tools
Ability to work effectively in teams or independently
