Position Summary Our Head of Office will oversee a specific RLX Brokerage Services branch with the goal of developing relationships with new customers and curating freight services to meet business needs. This role leads a branch that collaborates with carrier partners to meet customer demands. The Head of Freight will coach, train, and develop the branch\'s Team Managers/Brokers/Operations and help the team meet established operational and financial expectations.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Leverage knowledge and experience to coach and direct salespeople and operations personnel to grow revenue and margins through high-end sales pursuits and operational execution.
Manage the branch P/L, finding cost-effective efficiency gains while driving branch growth.
Support Talent Acquisition by participating in final interviews, providing feedback to recruiters, and adding qualified talent to the branch when needed.
Train and manage salespeople to maintain high activity, be organized, and pursue effective sales opportunities.
Lead by example by bringing on new accounts and booking loads.
Build relationships with branch leads and accounts to serve as a point of escalation and ensure opportunities are pursued.
Train sales and operations staff in strategic negotiation for profitable outcomes and sustainable partnerships.
Provide qualified leads and support efforts to identify, qualify, and acquire new customers via phone, referrals, trade shows, and networking.
Support weekly Hot Leads Meetings to strategize, identify areas to improve sales pursuits, and assign next-step actions.
Provide monthly reviews to leaders on goals vs. performance, deliver action items and SMART goals, and solicit feedback to improve support.
Communicate clear expectations to sales and operations staff and document when expectations are not met.
Act as a constant trainer to identify knowledge gaps and work with leaders to turn them into strengths.
Serve as the main point of contact for personnel management functions (promotions, disciplinary actions, etc.).
Provide direction to Account Coordinators to prioritize urgent tasks (loads to cover, track and trace, etc.).
Perform other tasks as assigned to help grow the business.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Demonstrated ability to coach and grow sales teams.
Demonstrated ability in strategic sales.
Experience of 3-5 years in a similarly situated sales environment.
Freight brokerage experience required.
Strong ability to lead teams in customer service, communication, negotiation and closing skills.
Demonstrated ability to excel within a collaborative sales environment.
