Overview
We are seeking an experienced and versatile
Critical Infrastructure Engineer
with deep expertise across enterprise networking, systems, and infrastructure operations. This role requires a professional who can confidently design, implement, troubleshoot, and optimize a broad range of technologies spanning both network and systems environments. You will work in a dynamic setting supporting complex enterprise and ISP-grade infrastructures, particularly in the energy and utilities sector.
Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, configure, and maintain network and systems infrastructure across multiple platforms. Manage and optimize network equipment, including
Arista (all platforms) ,
Cisco (routers, switches, firewalls) , and
Juniper (routers, switches) . Administer and troubleshoot
LogicMonitor ,
Kentik ,
ThousandEyes , and related monitoring and analytics tools. Support virtualization and compute platforms, including
Nutanix ,
VMware ,
Dell servers , and
Synology
storage systems. Manage
Microsoft Server OS
environments and
Microsoft Azure/Entra
cloud services. Maintain and configure core network services:
DNS, DHCP, IPAM, NTP , and other ancillary services essential for ISP/Enterprise infrastructures. Administer documentation and ticketing platforms:
HaloPSA ,
Hudu , and
Guru . Support incident response, change management, and root cause analysis for network and systems issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence, security compliance, and performance optimization. Integrate and support various third-party tools, particularly those common in the
energy/utilities
sector. Required Qualifications
7+ years
of progressive experience in enterprise networking and systems engineering roles. Strong, hands-on experience with: Networking:
Arista, Cisco, Juniper platforms (configuration, troubleshooting, architecture). Monitoring/Analytics:
LogicMonitor, Kentik, ThousandEyes. Systems & Virtualization:
Nutanix, VMware, Dell servers, Synology. Cloud & Identity:
Microsoft Azure, Entra ID (Azure AD). Core Services:
DNS, DHCP, IPAM, NTP. Proficiency with
Microsoft Server OS
administration and integration in hybrid environments. Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure design principles and best practices. Proven ability to document processes, procedures, and configurations using platforms like
Hudu
and
Guru . Experience with PSA and ticketing tools (HaloPSA preferred). Broad knowledge of
energy/utilities sector
technology stacks a plus. Preferred Skills
Experience in ISP-grade or large-scale enterprise environments. Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements in critical infrastructure sectors. Scripting or automation skills (PowerShell, Python, etc.). Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to lead complex issue resolution. Soft Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members. Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-availability environments.
