Overview Voya Investment Management is seeking an experienced, highly motivated and analytical Investment Data Management Analyst. In this key role you will set and implement the instrument data mastering approach, governance, quality, and delivery for the business. This position plays a crucial role in facilitating the data needs of the business through partnership with IT and external data providers. The ideal candidate will have a keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a passion for maintaining data integrity in the investment domain.

Note: This position has been designated as a hybrid-office/home role. Details of your in-office schedule will be finalized with your manager.

The Contributions You'll Make

Design and Implementation: Drive the design and implementation of instrument mastering concepts, approach and processes with a strong emphasis on understanding the business need across various functions. Take the lead in shepherding projects end-to-end and partner with IT to decide on future state architectural decisions of the instrument data.

Instrument Mastering: Perform instrument mastering across various sources and aspects of a financial instrument such as instrument types, sectors, issuers, reference attributes, cross-reference etc. Monitor and resolve data discrepancies timely. Responsible for ensuring new instruments and changes to existing instruments are timely identified and captured in the mastered instrument data, including ensuring nuanced aspects of each instrument are captured.

Market Data Providers: Coordinate and liaise with our respective external vendors (e.g., Bloomberg, ICE) to source instrument level attributes based on the needs of internal stakeholders.

Data Delivery for Production: Confirm that all data was received per daily and monthly requirement and that it was successfully captured in the instrument data mastering. Interact with IT to ensure that all data was received as expected and loaded completely and without incident to the data warehouse.

Data Control and Resolution: Create and manage data controls that ensure the timeliness, completeness, consistency, and accuracy of the data received. Perform forensic data analysis to assess the issues and provide root cause analysis. Monitor and resolve data discrepancies timely, both as a tactical measure and long-term remediation.

Data Governance: Ensure that the pathway of data is accurately documented with business specifications that illustrate change control, a data dictionary of available concepts, and lineage as to how that data moves and is transformed throughout its journey.

Interface with the Business to Facilitate Dynamic Requirements: As the needs of the business evolve, new products are launched, and regulations change the team will need to be adaptable to be the entry point for those developing data needs. An understanding of the investment business and the lens through which each customer views the data is paramount. As new requests are raised, they must be analyzed, prioritized, and communicated to our business development team and in partnership with IT. This also requires communication to the business to help them understand how they are receiving data and where it comes from.

Investment Solutions: Partake in and coordinate conversations with vendors and investment teams to propose and assist in proposing creative solutions related to security master data to support the investment business. Represent team with knowledge of key processes and systems to support developing accurate, sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience preferably in finance, data, or information systems. A graduate degree is a plus.

10+ years of investment industry experience with a good understanding of investment data across a broad array of asset classes (Fixed Income, Equity, Derivatives, Alternatives, Funds, etc.).

3+ years of experience in product ownership experience.

Advanced understanding of investment instrument mastering and extensive experience with security master systems and data management.

Advanced experience with Bloomberg Data, data warehouse architecture and data mapping.

Good familiarity with investment platforms and systems (e.g., Bloomberg AIM, BlackRock Aladdin) and reporting platforms (e.g., SQL Management Studio, Power BI, WebFOCUS). Experience with Snowflake is preferred, but not required.

Highly effective communicator with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills (verbal and written). Capable of effectively communicating functional requirements to technical stakeholders.

Excellent decision-making ability to manage a complex, ever-changing priority list and resolve conflicts with competing priorities.

Strong problem solver. Ability to identify where focus is needed and bring clarity to business objectives, requirements, and priorities.

Ability to embrace, adapt, and lead through change, foster effective partnerships, and drive effective collaboration with peers and vendor resources.

Demonstrate high energy, resiliency, capacity and the ability to handle multiple priorities and execute.

Compensation Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities. The salary range for this position in the listed locations is provided below. Actual compensation offered may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and skill level, and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

$88,000 - $110,000 USD
