R&D Project Manager III

The Greenville, North Carolina, USA site is a large, multipurpose pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, and packaging campus. The operation provides both development and commercial services for sterile injectables and oral solid dose forms. Discover Impactful Work: The R&D Project Manager III demonstrates project management capabilities and life sciences industry knowledge in order to drive the manufacturing or packaging process transfer or analytical method transfer from internal or external originating/sending units into the commercial facilities. The ability to independently manage a portfolio of client projects through creative problem solving, cross-functional teamwork and life sciences industry knowledge enables successful project delivery in this role! Key Responsibilities:
Lead Customer Projects:
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external clients. Collaborate with the Business Manager to support new ventures and manage contract changes. Maintain close contact with client representatives through various communication channels to ensure issues are addressed and project timelines are met. Communication and Coordination:
Act as the key contact and communication channel between Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. and the customer. Meet regularly with project team members and production staff to understand operations and issues related to the projects. Coordinate internal development activities necessary for successful product transfers. Conflict Resolution:
Negotiate project conflicts within the company and with customer contacts. Ensure mutually agreeable resolutions or inform management of potential risks and issues. Project Documentation:
Complete all necessary project activity plans and reports accurately, in detail, and within required timeframes. As Demonstrated By:
Project Management Competence:
Independently manage a large, complex project portfolio or multiple client projects. Structure projects in line with client strategy, optimizing processes to identify needs, define resource requirements, track performance, and identify improvement opportunities. Create strategies to anticipate, track, and assess project obstacles. Proactively define, track, and negotiate expenses, budgets, and revisions. Client Relationship Management:
Perform and interpret comprehensive need analyses. Thoroughly understand Thermo Fisher's solutions portfolio and industry. Technical Knowledge:
Demonstrate technical capabilities and expertise in site processes, industry requirements, and problem-solving. Manage projects efficiently in different systems to provide accurate forecasting information. Proactively improve the efficiency and effectiveness of work processes. Project Management Leadership:
Collaborate well, build effective business relationships, and bring new perspectives to overcome difficulties. Craft S.M.A.R.T. objectives and form a realistic action roadmap with timelines. Lead projects as needed, support diverse teams, plan timelines for project completion effectively. Key Requirements:
Education:
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Science, Life Sciences, Biology, or a related area of study. Experience:
Minimum: 4 years of applicable experience. Alternative: Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Science, Life Sciences, Biology, or a related field with 2 years of relevant experience. Required Knowledge/Experience:
