Data Center Project Manager
to join one of the largest, fastest growing, and comprehensive TMT (Tech, Media and Telecom) practices in the industry. Responsibilities
HDR is looking for a project manager whose experience focuses on client development and delivery of data center projects. The ideal candidate should have a proven background in delivering data center and mission critical projects from upfront planning and pre-design through detail design, construction support and commissioning. In addition to managing and delivering projects (the primary focus of this role), the successful candidate must possess the drive, experience and charisma to develop and secure work from a robust global client base and expand HDRs reputation within these markets. This individual will manage multi-disciplinary design teams from project conception to completion, with a strong emphasis on organizational skills and follow-through. Some travel to client sites or other HDR offices is required. Primary responsibilities include managing and delivering projects and developing client relationships, leading multi-disciplinary design teams, and ensuring client satisfaction. Travel to client sites or HDR offices may be required. Additional Duties include :
Mentoring/Managing: grow a collaborative environment that promotes career growth, high?quality construction documents, client satisfaction, and team safety. Coordinate the work of multidiscipline design teams; mentor, organize, and facilitate staff growth; coordinate workload from project development to document completion. Marketing: establish client relations, participate in marketing and production meetings, assist with fee proposals and scope documents, and promote HDR through client interface; collaborate on development strategies and standards to meet goals. Technical: ensure product deliverables meet quality standards; lead project teams to deliver successful projects; manage quality, schedule, scope and budget; forecasting, invoicing, and contract management; create proposal content including scope, schedule and budget; assist HDR in interview/presentation preparation; collaborate with local office leads and other groups. Perform other duties as needed. Travel: Some travel to job sites or HDR offices; this will be communicated in advance to coordinate with project work and personal life.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years leadership experience in site programming, project planning, design, construction and/or commissioning. Previous Data Center / Mission Critical experience in an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm is desired. Strong desire to stay current with trends in the fast-paced mission critical industry. Ability to interact with various design teams, with excellent organizational, project management and communication (written and verbal) skills. Working knowledge of Uptime Topology standards, ASHRAE TC 9.9, and ISO standards regarding PUE, CUE, and WUE. Working knowledge of Newforma Project Center and/or ProjectWise Document Management Software. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Self-motivation and professional initiative; focused on client outcomes. Working knowledge of current industry standards. Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field. 7 years related experience. A minimum of 2 years project management experience. Ability to interact with various design teams, with excellent organizational, project management and communication (written and verbal) skills.
