They are now seeking a
Customs & Trade Compliance Lead
to take charge of North American import/export processes and strengthen their compliance framework. Position Summary Based in Charlotte with hybrid flexibility, this position will lead compliance activities across the U.S. and Canada. The role involves overseeing tariff classification, broker governance, duty management, and policy execution while engaging closely with executive leadership and international teams. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate. Responsibilities Lead compliance operations for U.S. and Canadian imports and exports Manage HTS classification, trade preference programs, and duty recovery initiatives Conduct internal audits and implement proactive risk controls Maintain internal procedures, SOPs, and training documentation Coordinate with customs brokers, freight partners, and internal stakeholders Monitor regulatory changes and update compliance practices accordingly Collaborate with global trade and legal teams on cross-border programs Candidate Profile Licensed U.S. Customs Broker (required) 57+ years of trade compliance experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment In-depth knowledge of U.S. import/export law, CBP, BIS, and tariff programs Proficiency in HTS classification and NAFTA/USMCA rules of origin Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, GTS, or other ERP/trade compliance systems Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to partner across functions Must be based in or open to relocation to Charlotte, NC (relocation supported) What Youll Receive Hybrid work arrangement based out of Charlotte Full benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage 4 weeks PTO plus U.S. public holidays 401(k) program with up to 12% company match Involvement in global trade programs within a respected international business Culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and integrity
