Senior Network Engineer . Apply via Dice today! Job Description This position requires an active Top Secret clearance. The Senior Network Engineer will support military Space Programs, receiving day-to-day operations guidance from program staff and reporting to the FBM IS Classified IT Ops Manager. Responsibilities: Designs and plans network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provides detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools to meet business needs, including capacity planning. Conducts testing of network design and maintains expertise in network hardware and software interconnection, such as routers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, etc. Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance network capabilities.
Basic Qualifications: Active Top Secret Security clearance prior to starting. IAT Level II 8140/8570 Compliant Certification (e.g., Security+, GSEC, CISSP, etc.). Knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies like TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching. Experience configuring and managing network devices and troubleshooting network issues.
Desired Skills: Knowledge of network design, development, and testing methodologies. Understanding of OSI Model, TCP/IP, routing protocols BGP and OSPF. Network traffic analysis and troubleshooting skills. Firewall knowledge (Juniper, Palo Alto). Knowledge of SDWAN, VLANs, GRE Tunnels, multi-vendor switching (Juniper, Cisco), TACLANEs. Excellent presentation skills using Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Visio.
