Specialty Software Engineer (QA)

STRATEGIC STAFFING SOLUTIONS (S3) HAS AN OPENING! Strategic Staffing Solutions is currently looking for a Software Engineer (QA), a W2 contract opportunity with one of our largest clients! Candidates should be willing to work on our W2 ONLY, NO C2C Job Title : Software Engineer (QA) Role Type: W2 only Duration: 12 months Location: Iselin, NJ Schedule: Hybrid, 3 days in office. Key Skills : 4+ years of QA experience, with at least 2 years in automation. Solid understanding of financial instruments (equities, fixed income, derivatives, etc.) and the front-to-back trade lifecycle. Experience with SQL for data validation Experience in building a robust test automation framework Experience in integrating test automation in CI/CD pipeline Familiar using Jenkins, GitLab, or similar Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language like Python or KSH Job Summary: Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Specialty Software Engineering and contribute to large-scale planning related to Specialty Software Engineering deliverables. Review and analyze moderately complex Specialty Software Engineering challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Contribute to the resolution of moderately complex issues and consult with others to meet Specialty Software Engineering deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Collaborate with client personnel in Specialty Software Engineering. Responsibilities: Objective : Modernizing risk applications in preparation for increased trading volume post-asset cap removal. Current platforms lack scalability to support a 3-4x trading volume increase. Platform Strategy : Converging multiple applications into the Valuation Adjustment Target Operating Platform (XVA TOP). XVA TOP is built using Java and Power BI technology stacks. Effort involves a hybrid of legacy BAU support and new platform development. Reporting Transformation : Enhancing reporting processes using Power BI for better output visualization and analysis. Required Skills & Knowledge : Understanding of over-the-counter (OTC) traded products in the capital markets space. Experience with Python and automation tools. Ability to convert manual test cases into automated tests. Work Methodology : Operate in 2-week sprints using Agile framework. Participate in daily scrum meetings, including sprint planning and retrospectives. Prior Agile experience is a plus, but not mandatory. Required Qualifications : 4+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent, demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, and education.
