Full-time About the Role: I'm advising a leading Investment Bank seeking a highly skilled Java Developer to join their Order Management System development team, focusing on RFQ workflows and FIX protocol integration. In this role, you will design, build, and enhance low-latency, high-performance trading systems that power global electronic trading across asset classes. Youll work closely with traders, quants, and other developers to deliver robust, scalable solutions that directly impact business performance. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain Java-based OMS components, with a focus on RFQ workflows and FIX protocol connectivity. Implement and optimize low-latency trading and market connectivity solutions. Collaborate with trading desks, quants, and business analysts to gather requirements and deliver front-office solutions. Enhance and support FIX engines, gateways, and market access infrastructure. Ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance for high-volume trading environments. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, working closely with support teams. Contribute to code reviews, testing, and best practices in software engineering. Key Skills & Experience: Strong Core Java development skills (multithreading, concurrency, performance optimization). Proven experience with OMS development and RFQ workflows. In-depth knowledge of FIX protocol (sessions, messages, order flow). Experience with low-latency trading systems, market connectivity, or electronic trading platforms. Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced trading environments. Familiarity with messaging/middleware (Kafka, Solace, or similar) is a plus. Knowledge of equities, FX, or derivatives trading workflows preferred. Seniority level
