Overview
The Innovation and Technology Department (ITD) is recruiting for Telecom System Specialists who review, evaluate, program, and make recommendations on telephone services for new and existing county facilities. These positions are located at the ITD main office and will primarily provide remote customer support over the phone and/or email with occasional site visits as needed. Conditions of Employment
Pre-Employment Process: Incumbent must successfully complete a background investigation (fingerprinting and work history/education check) in addition to a job-related physical exam, including a drug test. Travel: Travel throughout the county may be required. Employees will be required to make provision for transportation. Working Conditions: Employees may be asked to work during unusual hours, inclement weather, and other adverse circumstances. Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future. Candidate must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States.
Qualifications
Two (2) years, within the last six (6) years, of telecommunications experience with primary responsibility for planning, programming, troubleshooting, implementing, and recommending computerized telephone switching systems, including voice mail. Experience must be with an employer that utilizes large VoIP telephone systems and/or multiple PBX switches and/or Unified Communications applications. Education in communication technology, certifications in Cisco voice solutions, and experience with VoIP, Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Unity Connection, Call Center applications, Unified Communications applications and VXTracker Telecom Management system is highly desirable.
