Senior/SME Information Assurance & Cybersecurity Manager
Waypoint's client is seeking a Senior/SME Information Assurance & Cybersecurity Manager to lead and oversee enterprise-wide cybersecurity operations supporting mission-critical national security systems. The ideal candidate will bring 25+ years of progressive IT systems security, certification & accreditation (C&A), and Assessment & Authorization (A&A) experience across DoD and Intelligence Community (IC) environments, with expert-level knowledge of RMF, NIST, and IC compliance frameworks. Responsibilities:
Lead and manage full-spectrum Information Assurance (IA) and Cybersecurity operations. Direct RMF implementation, continuous monitoring, and security authorization packages (Xacta, eMASS, LatteArt). Serve as ISSM and ISSO across classified systems, ensuring compliance with NISPOM, DCID 6/3, ICD 503, DAAPM, and related frameworks. Oversee audits, incident response, remediation strategies, and enterprise-wide security policy enforcement. Manage design, implementation, and assessment of secure networks in compliance with ICD 705 standards. Support COMSEC and access control management. Interface with DoD/IC customers, inspectors, auditors, and accreditation bodies to ensure cybersecurity alignment. Mentor cybersecurity teams and develop documentation supporting enterprise/program-level IA goals. Utilize automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell) to improve compliance and reporting. Required:
Active TS/SCI clearance. 25+ years of experience in IA, Cybersecurity, and network/system security. In-depth expertise in RMF, NIST SP 800-53, ICD 503, DAAPM, NISPOM, JSIG, and related frameworks. Demonstrated leadership managing large-scale IA/Cybersecurity programs. Experience acting as ISSM/ISSO in classified DoD or IC environments. Desired:
CISSP certification (active). Advanced degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related STEM field. Familiarity with tools such as Xacta, eMASS, Nessus, LatteArt, and SIEM/Audit platforms. Experience with SCIF design/build projects and facility-level security programs. Professional associations such as (ISC), ISSA, or NCMS membership.
