Starlink is the worlds largest satellite constellation and is providing fast, reliable internet to millions of users worldwide. We design, build, manufacture, and operate all parts of the system including thousands of satellites and millions of customer kits. Our customers include teachers in remote regions, researchers in Antarctica, digital nomads traveling via RV, emergency responders, commercial airlines, cruise lines, and residential users in rural or developing areas. While users can get online within minutes almost anywhere in the world, Starlinks potential is still expanding. We are looking for engineers to maximize Starlinks utility for individuals, communities, and businesses. Responsibilities

Develop software running on custom hardware deployed to millions of devices around the world Create infrastructure and tools for rapid and reliable deployment of our code to customers wherever they are Write software for Starlinks custom phased array and modem silicon Radically improve the user experience of satellite internet Develop a telemetry system that scales to millions of devices with trillions of data points Build robust systems that are resistant to adversarial attacks Our software engineers are responsible for the complete lifecycle of the software they create, including development, testing, and support. Basic Qualifications

Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a STEM discipline and 1+ years of professional software engineering experience; OR 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree Development experience in C, C++, Python, Golang, or other similar programming languages Preferred Skills and Experience

Strong software design and development skills Developed, debugged, and deployed software used in real-world embedded devices Creative problem solving, strong analytical skills, and solid engineering fundamentals Solid knowledge of Linux programming, networking protocols (TCP/IP), electronics, math, physics, and radio frequency Experience with security considerations in distributed systems and internet services Cross-context test design, from unit tests to integrated hardware-in-the-loop regression and exploratory tests Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs Additional Requirements

Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed to support critical milestones Compensation and Benefits

Software Engineer/Level I: $120,000 - $145,000 per year Software Engineer/Level II: $140,000 - $170,000 per year Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Base salary is one part of SpaceXs total rewards package. You may be eligible for long-term incentives (stock options or cash), discretionary bonuses, and stock purchase opportunities.
