What to Expect (Job Responsibilities): - Assist in the maintenance of Charge Master and Epic Procedure Master files to ensure accurate and compliant charging - Ensure synchronization of Epic and ancillary system charge master files - Stay updated on government and commercial payer regulations for charge code setup - Collaborate with various departments to identify and resolve charge-related issues promptly - Prepare and deliver training related to accurate charging practices
What is Required (Qualifications): - Bachelors degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred - 2-3 years of experience in charge description master setup and maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience - Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS procedure coding, UB-04, and 1500 billing requirements - Extensive knowledge of government and commercial payer requirements for accurate billing - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications): - Epic charge master application experience is preferred - 2-3 years of coding experience in a hospital inpatient and outpatient setting - Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) preferred - Clinical Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred
