  • Shift Structure: 3 x 24-hour shifts per 7-day period
  • Coverage: Single peds hospitalist on service at a time (24/7 coverage)
  • Call: None
Clinical Scope
  • Patient Age: 32 weeks and up
  • Patient Load: Max 5 patients per shift
  • Beds in Unit: 8-bed pediatric unit
  • Admissions Required: Yes
  • Rounding Patients: Yes
  • Services Provided:
  • Inpatient pediatrics
  • ED consults
  • Newborn nursery care
  • Attend newborn deliveries as needed
Certifications Required
  • Board Certification (Pediatrics): Required
  • BLS & PALS: Required
Ideal Candidate
  • General pediatrician (no fellowship required)
  • Comfortable with low to mid-level acuity
  • Collaborative team player - close coordination with NICU, ED, and specialty teams
  • Strong communication and consult skills
