Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn't work together.

The Role
Square UXR, part of Block Customer Insights, is looking for a Senior UX Researcher to join our Banking team. You will work closely with cross-functional partners and research collaborators to ensure Square's Banking suite meets the evolving needs of the businesses we serve. You know that building remarkable products starts with understanding customer needs, and your role is to conduct generative and evaluative research that informs product development. Your work will focus on Square's financial products, helping businesses manage cash flows and fund their growth. You Will
Lead and execute research across banking products, including savings, credit, and lending products Conduct multi-method, impactful research across the product lifecycle, from formative to evaluative Triangulate insights using primary qualitative and quantitative research, along with secondary sources Collaborate with researchers and cross-functional teams to ensure insights inform strategy, product launches, and improvements Communicate research findings effectively through reports and presentations, leading with data-driven analysis and relevant synthesis Advocate for customer needs through storytelling, visual, and verbal communication to build empathy Work with Design, Product Management, Data Science, Customer Operations, Voice-of-the-Customer, Marketing, and Engineering teams to incorporate research at key stages You Have
8+ years of industry experience using diverse methodologies such as interviews, contextual inquiry, remote and in-lab testing, surveys, log analysis, etc. Experience developing or applying frameworks to align teams and communicate insights Experience managing vendors and agencies for research support Ability to prioritize and manage a research roadmap across multiple teams Experience managing stakeholders and driving projects to completion Willingness to travel periodically for team engagement Experience working on projects that build trust or involve sensitive topics We are committed to building an inclusive economy and workplace.
