The National Account Manager is a results-driven sales professional with expertise in the U.S. retail landscape, especially in Grocery channels. The NAM manages sales performance across key national customers, develops customer-specific strategies, builds strong relationships with buyers and brokers, and oversees trade spend and promotional planning.
Responsibilities
- Own annual sales targets and business plans for assigned accounts, including Publix, HEB, SEG, Five Below, and other key retailers in the Southeast and Central regions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key customer contacts, brokers, and distributor partners to ensure execution and long-term growth.
- Conduct store visits to assess in-market performance, identify improvements, and ensure trade initiative execution.
- Manage trade spending and allocate promotional dollars efficiently within assigned accounts.
- Lead relationships with brokers, such as ASM and Lotus’ grocery broker, ensuring strategic alignment.
- Represent Lotus Bakeries at customer meetings, industry conferences, broker summits, and trade shows.
Profile
- Minimum of 5+ years in CPG sales, preferably in food or beverage categories.
- Experience managing national retail accounts in grocery or mass channels.
- Expertise in trade promotion management, forecasting, and planning.
- Proficiency in syndicated data platforms (Nielsen, IRI, SPINS) and turning insights into customer stories.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
- Experience managing broker relationships is required.
