Mason Frank International is recruiting for a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Architect in the San Francisco Bay Area. The organization seeks a dedicated professional to join its team as an Apps & AI Front-End Technical Lead within the Digital and Marketing Product team in Commercial Technologies. The ideal candidate will collaborate with commercial and medical teams to drive omnichannel marketing strategies leveraging a Customer Data Platform (CDP), marketing automation, and analytics.

This role will lead the implementation and enablement of marketing tactics using a CDP (Census) integrated with Redshift and Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Responsibilities include ensuring that marketing data is structured, segmented, and activated to support digital media, email, direct mail, and other channels. The candidate should demonstrate deep knowledge of marketing data in biotech, the ability to rapidly learn new applications, and a strong understanding of digital marketing concepts and analytics.

Base pay range

$150,000.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Guidance & Mentorship: Provide hands-on technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to engineers, fostering best practices in coding, design, and development methodologies.
  • Requirements Translation: Understand customer needs, product owner requirements, and detailed functional specifications from the Domain Delivery Lead (DDL) and Product Analyst (PA), translating them into clear technical designs and actionable tasks.
  • Architectural Contribution: Contribute to the architectural discipline within the Digital and Marketing domain, ensuring scalable, robust, maintainable solutions aligned with system principles.
  • Solution Design & Oversight: Lead the technical design of features and components, ensuring quality and alignment with user journeys.
  • Code Quality & Standards: Ensure coding standards, perform regular code reviews, and champion engineering best practices to maintain code quality and stability.
  • Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Act as a technical escalation point for complex challenges encountered by the development team.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with the DDL, Product Analyst, and other Technical Leads to ensure alignment and manage dependencies.
  • Technical Strategy & Innovation: Contribute to the technical strategy and roadmap, stay current with new technologies, and advocate for innovative solutions.
  • Operational Support: Provide technical expertise for incident response, performance tuning, and ensuring health and stability of deployed solutions.
  • Team Empowerment: Foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and shared ownership.
  • Lead omnichannel marketing architecture using Redshift, CDP (Census), and Salesforce Marketing Cloud; advise on data architecture for segmentation and activation across channels.
  • Rapidly learn new marketing, commercial, and medical applications; support implementation, integration, and onboarding.
  • Evaluate and integrate analytics tools (e.g., Sprinklr, GA4, Google Ads) into the marketing tech stack.
  • Collaborate with marketing, medical, IT, data engineering, compliance, and vendor teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders for technology decisions and best practices.
  • Integrate generative AI capabilities into front-end workflows and surface AI outputs in a compliant and user-friendly way.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in digital marketing technology or MarTech, ideally within biotech, pharma, or regulated industries.
  • Proven experience with CDP platforms (ideally Census), Redshift, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Strong knowledge of marketing data structures, segmentation strategies, and activation across digital channels.
  • Familiarity with analytics (GA4, email analytics, Google Ads), customer journeys, and personalization.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., MLR, HIPAA, GDPR) in biotech or pharmaceutical contexts.
  • Strong technical leadership and solution architecture skills; ability to translate business requirements into scalable solutions.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and mentorship skills; ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to quickly learn and implement new marketing and digital technologies as needed.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with marketing data pipelines and modern data stacks.
  • Familiarity with CDP concepts.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and compliance considerations in healthcare marketing (HIPAA, opt-in/opt-out).
  • Agile/Scrum experience and familiarity with product management practices
