Responsibilities
- Advise clients on a full spectrum of corporate tax services including planning, research, and other mergers and acquisitions activities.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team that delivers due diligence and tax structuring services, communicating findings and opportunities to clients.
- Partner with and assist other senior members of the M&A Tax practice on technical tax issues involving consolidated returns, S corporations, partnerships, LLCs, and LLPs.
- Assist clients with current issues such as bankruptcy emergence planning, out-of-court workouts, debt restructurings, tax basis, earnings and profits, and section 382 studies.
- Develop, motivate, and train staff and manager-level team members.
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful work environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum eight years of recent experience in federal tax and/or mergers and acquisitions in a public accounting firm, corporate tax department, or law firm.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
- Licensed CPA, JD/LLM, or Enrolled Agent, with other credentials on KPMG's approved listing; if not, one year from hire to obtain an approved designation/credential.
- Knowledge of a broad range of corporate tax matters across various industries.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and client service teams.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
