About the Role

The Content Strategy & Planning Team is looking for a Content Strategy Associate to drive impact across a breadth of strategy work, supporting the Content Strategy & Planning department. This team works directly with Senior Roku Media Leadership to define success and content needs. This role partners with Leadership to unpack and solve ambiguous problems, translate data into impactful recommendations, and co-create cross-functional solutions. As part of a small but impactful team, you will have the opportunity to define the next phase of streaming television.

The work can be challenging, but we enjoy it. The ideal candidate isn't a bystander—curious and engaged, willing to jump in to solve problems and make data-driven decisions even when things feel ambiguous. The industry changes quickly, so candidates should be comfortable responding swiftly to changing business needs, with success tied to the team's success.

For California only: The estimated annual salary for this position is between $86,000 and $94,000 annually. Compensation packages are based on factors including skill set, certifications, and location. This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off.

  • Regularly presenting analyses and reports on operating and financial metrics to Leadership
  • Staying informed on industry trends and reflecting them in strategies
  • Performing other ad hoc tasks and responsibilities as assigned by leadership

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant experience; top-tier strategy consulting preferred; analytical roles involving ambiguity (e.g., leading a company's strategy function, startup operations)
  • Familiarity with domestic and international media markets is a plus
  • Strong analytical background with experience handling large data sets to identify trends and insights
  • Strong skills with Excel, BI, and data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau). Foundational skills enabling quick, independent work with these tools. Airtable and/or coding in SQL or Python is helpful but not required
  • Role based in Santa Monica; must be on-site 4 days a week
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience (MBA a plus)

Skills

The Roku Culture

We operate in a fast-paced environment focused on the company's success. We value talented, collaborative people who keep egos in check and appreciate a sense of humor. We believe a smaller, highly capable team can achieve more than a larger group of less capable people. We are independent thinkers with big ideas who act boldly, move fast, and deliver through collaboration and trust. Roku is about changing how the world watches TV.

We think of ourselves as problem-solvers: we come up with a solution, and the solution is real when it is built and delivered to the customer. This pragmatic approach to innovation has served us since 2002.
