Salary: $140,000 - $175,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Continuous improvement of our monitoring and observability capabilities
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to optimize software delivery for scale, performance, and cost
  • Continuously monitor, log, and alert using tools like NewRelic and Sentry to ensure high uptime and preemptive issue resolution
  • System Reliability efforts such as Sentry, application log monitoring, system availability, and performance monitoring
  • Design, setup, and management of new and existing CI/CD pipelines in GitLab
  • Kubernetes and ECS orchestration initiatives for optimal containerization and deployment
  • Manage and optimize AWS cloud resources with focus on performance, security, and cost-efficiency
  • Deploy infrastructure as code solutions using Terraform or Pulumi
  • Implement and maintain security best practices throughout infrastructure and deployments
  • Create and maintain internal tooling and processes to improve efficiency
  • Design, improve, and maintain internal developer tooling (local environments, CLI utilities, automation scripts), with emphasis on developer productivity

Qualifications

Must Haves

  • 5-8 years of DevOps experience in a senior role
  • Proven experience with AWS services and infrastructure as code
  • Advanced skills in application health triage, including diagnosing issues using logs, alerts, and other forensic data
  • Hands-on experience with Grafana for monitoring and observability
  • Generalizable experience with monitoring/observability tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, Sentry, Splunk, Sumo Logic, etc.)
  • Passion for system reliability and performance monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Experience building and supporting full stack internal tools with JavaScript/TypeScript or equivalent
  • Knowledge of networking, security, and database management in cloud settings
  • Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines, ideally in GitLab
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
  • Scripting proficiency (Bash or equivalent)
  • Strong written and verbal communication with proactive problem-solving attitude
  • Remote work experience and communication on Slack or equivalent
  • Fundamental understanding of DevSecOps practices
  • Experience working in an Agile environment

Nice to Haves

  • AWS, Kubernetes, or Docker certifications
  • Experience with other cloud providers (Azure or Google Cloud Platform)
  • Past roles in fintech or startup settings
