Base pay range
$130,000.00/yr - $145,000.00/yr
Work Location: Hybrid Role, incumbent can be based in Chicago, IL, Philadelphia, PA, or Newport, DE
Travel Requirement: 35% (US travel)
Position Summary / Objective
As a member of the Group Engineering organization, manage major CAPEX measures and projects (or their subprojects) through all project phases within defined budget, timeline, and quality parameters across the Americas regions.
Essential Job Functions
- Plan and execute defined scope of CAPEX measures and projects (or their own subprojects) within budget, time, quality, and safety parameters.
- Carry out all project phases, from project idea to scoping, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up.
- Coordinate project work with relevant interfaces (internal & external) such as R&D, Operations, EHS, Maintenance, Legal M&A, Procurement, authorities, suppliers, contractors, etc.
- Ensure full compliance with the best internal and external practices, guidelines, regulations and legislation. Select and functionally manage assigned project members. Select and manage engineering consultants and contractors.
- Specify and select services, machinery, equipment, etc.
- Responsible for regular project controlling & reporting into Steering Committee/Senior Management.
- Ensure appropriate project and technical documentation is met.
- Review, develop, and update engineering processes and procedures.
- Coaching of less experienced colleagues.
Required Education and Experience
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in project engineering or comparable technical roles.
- Require a Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or other related field.
- Understanding of or experience in NFPA, ICC, and Cost Engineering is desirable.
- Ability to work in a professional group setting as well as independently; highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and complete them on time.
- Strong interpersonal/communication skills required. Candidate should possess strong oral and written communication skills.
- Solid computer literacy, experience with MS Office and MS Project. Experience with SAP is desirable.
- Minimal travel of less than 35%.
