Located in New Canaan, CT, our Sports Department seeks a leader in the field of sports to maintain current programs and contribute to growth with a creative mindset. This position requires extensive knowledge of basketball programming and large-scale basketball tournaments. The ideal candidate will have experience or interest in pickleball, volleyball, softball and other youth sports programs, and experience working with children in athletic programming.

Qualifications
- Bachelor\'s degree in Physical Education/Sports Management or related field is preferred.
- Must be able to present oneself professionally and communicate effectively with peers, staff and members.
Responsibilities
- With support from the Sports Coordinator, create new and manage current sports leagues for youth and adults. Current successful programs include: Y-Ball, pre-school sports, Adult lunchtime hoops
- Develop and maintain department budget
- Recruit, train, schedule, evaluate year round part-time staff, seasonal part-time staff and volunteers, such as basketball officials and department contractors
- Effectively develop schedules for programs and member gym usage through a variety of online programs
- Organize Summer Sports programs
- Collaborate with other department directors and community organizations
- Lead or assist with Sports Classes
- Maintain facility areas and equipment in order to offer quality programming
- Maintain certifications in Red Cross safety and first aid, including AED as well as adult/child CPR
- Flexible schedule - Ability to work Tuesday - Saturday during fall, winter and spring sessions; and Monday - Friday during summer months.
