Job Description
As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the RN contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients through the application of the nursing process. Nurses are expected to perform triage and assessments independently due to limited physician availability on-site. High-risk patient population and high-volume delivery experience are essential.
- Monthly Deliveries: 160–180
- High-Risk Population: Includes non-English speaking patients
- EMR: Epic (Stork experience encouraged)
- On-Call: None; extra shift scheduled in lieu of on-call
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, including holiday rotation
- Orientation: 8 hours (Non-Billable)
- OT/Holiday Multiplier: 1.25x
- OT billed after 40 hours/week (regardless of scheduled hours)
Requirements
- Experience:
- High-risk L&D experience – Required
- Experience in high-volume delivery centers (200–300 deliveries/month) – Required
- Circulating experience – Required
- Scrub experience – Encouraged
- Multiple completed travel contracts – Encouraged
- EPIC Stork experience – Encouraged
- Certifications:
- BLS (AHA) – Required
- ACLS (AHA) – Required
- NRP – Required
- AWHONN – Required
- License:
- Active Iowa RN license – Required
- Compact license accepted
- Vaccination:
- COVID-19 vaccine – Required
- Medical/Religious exemptions accepted upon request
- Flu vaccine – Required
- Declinations will not be approved
- Vaccination status must be included in profile
