We are currently seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to lead our purchasing and procurement operations for residential construction projects. This is a critical role that ensures we secure the best materials, services, and vendor partnerships to support our continued growth and deliver high-quality homes on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the purchasing strategy for residential construction projects.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Issue purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials to job sites.
  • Maintain approved vendor lists and build strong supplier relationships.
  • Evaluate and track material costs, price trends, and supply chain risks.
  • Monitor vendor performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing.
  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and budget constraints.
  • Analyze and report on cost savings, supplier performance, and purchasing trends.
  • Participate in project pre-construction planning to align purchasing with build schedules.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Construction Management, Business, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of purchasing experience in residential construction.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, specifications, and subcontractor scopes.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in construction management and purchasing software Hyphen Solutions (Build Pro/ Supply Pro).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and material sourcing regulations is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Mix of home/ office-based with periodic visits to construction sites and supplier locations.
  • Full-time schedule with occasional overtime based on project demands
