The
Regional Marketing Manager, Duty Free
based at
John F. Kennedy International Airport
(JFK) develops, coordinates, and executes comprehensive marketing activities across Duty Free locations within the assigned region. This role encompasses promotion planning, campaign execution, store openings, event activation, and strategic collaboration with global marketing teams, airport partners, and brand stakeholders to ensure consistent brand presence and commercial alignment excellence across the Duty Free retail footprint.
Essential Functions:
Coordinates seasonal promotions, gift-with-purchase (GWP) offers, and high-profile product (HPP) campaigns across all Duty Free locations
Implements local and global marketing campaigns in coordination with global marketing, category management, and local operations teams
Tracks and evaluates campaign performance, leading post-analysis reporting and optimization recommendations
Manages rollout of events, tastings, and interactive experiences that drive passenger engagement and brand activation
Oversees planning and execution of outposts, pop-up stores, and thematic events in collaboration with category teams and brand partners
Coordinates store visuals and branding execution including fascia, shelf barkers, signage, security bags, and promotional materials
Ensures consistent implementation of brand and category visuals across permanent and promotional units throughout the region
Coordinates marketing components for new store openings, refurbishments, and location expansions
Serves as key marketing liaison with global marketing teams, airport authorities, brand partners, and internal departments
Maintains comprehensive marketing masterplan and action tracker while preparing regular reports on A&P usage, advertising income tracking, and campaign impact
Reporting Relationship:
The Regional Marketing Manager - Duty Free reports to the Director of Marketing
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:
Education and Experience:
The combination of education and professional experience must exceed 5 years
In a leadership role:
Requires 2 years of experience supervising a team of marketing professionals engaged in executing marketing programs
In a technical role:
Requires 5 years of experience engaged in developing and delivering marketing programs
A bachelor's degree in a program related to the functional area can count for 3 of the 5-year requirement
In the industry: 3–5 years of Travel Retail, Duty Free, Hospitality, F&B and/or Retail experience
Strong organizational and project management skills with demonstrated bias for execution and results delivery
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across multiple levels and functions
Expertise in visual merchandising principles and retail space optimization
Experience with marketing automation platforms, campaign management systems, and analytics tools
Knowledge of travel retail regulations, airport operational requirements, and Duty Free market dynamics
Business acumen and mindset required to understand the long-term implications of marketing decisions and to advance organizational goals
Demonstrated history of understanding the needs of the business, stakeholders, and individual circumstances
Demonstrated history of creating and maintaining positive work environments through coaching, developing, and leading teams to achieve common goals
