Overview
Vendor Manager responsible for strategic sourcing and vendor relationships for hardware, software, and IT services. Partners with business and IT to understand needs and acts as the IT point of contact for purchases, deliveries, and issues with products and services. Negotiates service level agreements and collaborates with Asset Management to ensure appropriate use of corporate funds. Develops or assists in the development of RFIs, RFPs, and business cases. Location: Tallahassee, FL. Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategic sourcing and vendor relationship strategies. Manage selection, acquisition, and monitoring of contractual agreements for hardware, software, and IT services. Collaborate with the business and IT to understand needs and serve as the IT point of contact for purchases, deliveries, and issues with products and services. Articulate and negotiate service level agreements (SLAs). Work with Asset Management to ensure appropriate use of corporate funds. Develop or assist in the development of RFIs, RFPs, and business cases. Qualify vendors and maintain an approved vendor database and tracking system. Establish standards and procedures for evaluating products and services. Serve as the primary interface between the service provider and the business; maintain vendor contacts and manage order status and progress toward contractual commitments. Provide status updates on purchases; escalate delivery issues as necessary to minimize operational impact. Follow up with IT management to ensure satisfaction with delivered products and services and address problems or concerns. Participate in the budget process, including annual planning, cash flow for other departments, quarterly reconciliation, and ad hoc expense reports. Continuously seek optimal value from vendors by reviewing performance, ROI metrics, and initiating contract modifications; pursue new vendor relationships as needed. Maintain knowledge of product and service needs and changing technologies. Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience. Experience:
Minimum of 7 years in vendor relationship management, contract negotiation/administration, project or asset management in a technology environment. Breadth/Leadership:
Mid-Senior level management; typically manages and mentors supervisors, project leads, and/or technical staff; develops outsourcing strategies and coordinates multiple contracts or complex enterprise agreements; reports to CIO/CTO/CFO or equivalent senior leaders. Other:
Strong understanding of IT procurement processes, negotiation, and vendor performance management; ability to align procurement with business objectives. Location:
