General Role Description: We are seeking a Technology Designer to support the design and delivery of technology systems across a variety of projects. This role is ideal for someone eager to grow their expertise while collaborating with clients, consultants, and senior designers. This position reports to the Senior Technology Systems Designer. Key Responsibilities Support projects of varying size and complexity throughout all phases of design. Expand knowledge and expertise in technology design principles and best practices. Adhere to established quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency in design deliverables. Collaborate with clients, consultants, and internal teams to develop programming, conceptual designs, and detailed design solutions. Ensure all design materials comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations. Manage assigned design tasks to meet project budgets and schedules, coordinating with Senior Technology Designers as needed. Participate in project meetings to foster collaboration, build consensus, and resolve design-related issues. Review construction documents and shop drawings to verify alignment with design intent and client objectives. Maintain an understanding of project scope and escalate additional scope requests to the Senior Technology Systems Designer. Contribute to project-specific content for Requests for Proposals (RFPs). Actively participate in industry or client-related organizations to support professional growth and strengthen client relationships. Develop and maintain professional relationships with client peers to encourage ongoing and repeat work opportunities. Provide assistance to Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Senior Technology Systems Designers as required.
What You Bring To The Table
An undergraduate degree in architectural engineering, electrical engineering, telecommunications engineering, low voltage/communications engineering, or related fields, or comparable experience 2-4 years of experience in the design and installation of audio, video, security and/or telecommunication systems from conception through construction administration Experience using AutoCAD, REVIT, and Bluebeam to develop drawing sets Knowledge of specification writing in CSI 3-part format Time management and productivity skills Timely communication with senior staff regarding project progress Desire to design creative, innovative A/V systems and stay on the cutting edge of new technologies Ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization Desire to build relationships and work directly with clients Positive attitude, drive for excellence, and interest in contributing to a positive office culture Desire to gain knowledge and grow within the company
