Company Description Longshot Space Technologies is at the cutting edge of low-cost space access and hypersonics. We are developing a novel light-gas gun that accelerates mass over a long-distance. Position Overview We are seeking a motivated

Electrical Engineer

to join our core engineering team. In this role, you will support the design, development, and testing of electronic systems critical to our kinetic launch technology. You’ll work across a variety of subsystems—from high-voltage actuation to embedded telemetry—helping to build and refine the hardware that powers our launch platform.

This is a hands-on role with opportunities for growth in both technical and leadership tracks. You’ll collaborate closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams including mechanical, fluids, and aerospace engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the design, testing, and integration of all electronic systems for the accelerator.

Contribute to schematic capture, PCB layout, and component selection for key subsystems.

Participate in the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of hardware in lab and field environments.

Support development and debugging of embedded firmware within our data acquisition systems.

Create and maintain technical documentation for electronic and firmware systems.

Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure electrical systems meet performance and reliability goals.

Support integration of electrical systems with mechanical, fluids, and software components.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

2–5 years of industry experience (or equivalent academic/research experience).

Familiarity with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad) and circuit simulation tools

Experience working with embedded systems (e.g., RP2040, ARM, STM32, or similar).

Comfortable with lab tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.

Exposure to high-voltage systems, analog/mixed-signal design, or RF is a plus.

Knowledge of best practices for EMC/EMI is a bonus.

Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
