Overview
Perform routine inspection operations on a limited variety of rotor blades, composites and component parts. Responsibilities
Work from engineering drawings, specifications, check sheets, detailed instructions and established inspection procedures. Inspect standard detail parts, machining and assembly processes involved in the production of metal and composite rotor blades. Inspect visually and with measuring instruments various component parts (ribs, spars, cuffs, etc.) for conformance with specified dimensions, quality of finish, material and process specifications. Inspect assembly processes and adhesive bonding operations at various stages for quality of workmanship and conformance to specifications. Check completed blades for balance and quality of finish. Examine blades for defects using prescribed inspection methods, including condition of pressurized (BIM) blades, and perform routine inspection operations to determine extent of repairs and check out repairs as required. Perform other related blade/composite inspection duties of a limited scope as directed. Refer unusual conditions to the working leader or foreman. Perform operator checklist as required and comply with all EH&S procedures. As required, segregate waste material and follow good housekeeping practices. Seniority level
