Job Description

Quality Assurance Internship

Location: Hagerstown, MD

Type: Part-Time Paid Internship during the School Year

Department: Quality Assurance

Relocation Assistance: Not Available

Must be local to Maryland State

WHEN YOU JOIN US, YOU WILL:

Learn and perform in-house QA tests on finished products and raw materials

Operate and calibrate lab and hand-measuring equipment; record results in Microsoft Excel and Minitab

Update and maintain QA documentation in Intelex (SOPs, SWIs, QA records)

Organize electronic files for rapid retrieval and audit readiness

Collect, trend, and interpret data to identify improvement opportunities

Share observations and suggestions with QA and operations teams to support continuous improvement

Assist the QA team during internal and external audits (never alone)

Contribute to data cleanup, SOP/SWI revisions, and targeted process-improvement projects

Perform other related tasks as assigned

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Junior, Senior, or Recent Graduate pursuing a B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field

Proficient in Microsoft Office/365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); familiarity with Minitab is a plus

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Comfortable working ~80% of the time in a controlled lab environment with occasional exposure to dust or chemicals (PPE provided)

Able to lift up to 30 lbs (e.g., ISO sheets or pieces of TPO – never full rolls)

Demonstrated interest in a career in Quality Assurance

Prior experience or co-op in manufacturing or industrial settings is a plus

SCHEDULE & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

·Average weekly hours: ~25–30

Typical schedule:

Mon–Wed: 10:30/11:00 AM – 7:00/7:30 PM

Thu: 10:30/11:00 AM – 3:00/3:30 PM (max 5-hour shift)

Occasional Overnight: 7:00 PM – 3:00/3:30 AM (rare; advance notice)

Work primarily in temperature-controlled lab areas; occasional production floor visits
