Ascension Seton Foundation is seeking a
Director of Development (Major Gift Officer)
to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors. This is a full-time position focused on securing
gifts of $25,000-$250,000 and beyond
in support of Ascension Seton's mission.
The Director of Development will manage a portfolio of major gift donors and prospects, with responsibility for achieving annual fundraising goals and building long-term relationships that result in
sustained giving of $750,000-$1 million annually within 2-3 years.
The role emphasizes collaboration with clinical leaders, hospital executives, and volunteers to align donor interests with strategic funding priorities across Ascension Seton.

Responsibilities
Participate in fundraising campaigns, grant administration, major gift and/or charitable
development programs.
Assist with fundraising campaigns including budgets and timelines. Coordinate the creative process, file selection, production and mailing, and the acknowledgement process.
Support strategy to train staff on marketing campaigns, soliciting donors, and defining levels of giving and benefits. Create printed materials and update databases and websites with campaign program information.
Implement donor relations/recognition activities. Develop donor confidence and relationships through effective gift solicitation, processing and acknowledgement.
Support the development and implementation of tracking strategies for solicitation efforts and perform analysis of data for results.
Requirements
Education:
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Additional Preferences
3-5 years of progressive experience in
major gift fundraising
($25,000+)
Experience in healthcare or complex non-profit environment strongly preferred.
Demonstrated success managing a donor portfolio and securing five- and six-figure gifts.
Strong relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams and with clinical partners.
Self-motivated and goal-driven with high ethical standards, professionalism, and discretion.
Creative and adaptable with strong problem-solving skills.
Service line fundraising experience is a plus.
