If you answered Yes, then we want you!As a Kitchen Sanitation Assistant, you will be responsible for the operation of the dish room area and cleaning up the kitchen after banquet events.Typical duties may include, but not limited to:This position does not have a set schedule and times vary depending on the needs of the companyOperation of the dish machine and three compartment sinkCheck water temperature and soap concentrations, adjusting as necessary to maintain sanitation standards.Preform periodic cleaning of dish machine, walls, ceilings, doors, shelves and sinksScraping, soaking, washing, drying and storing of dishes, glassware, silverware, pots and pans and cooking sheets and other items.Sweep, mop, and sanitize floorsIt is your job to make sure the guests of the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center receive the most outstanding customer service.Required Qualifications Be enrolled as a student at Michigan State University (during academic year)Demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer serviceMust be able to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervisionMust be positive and respectful, especially when working with a diverse population.Must be able to stand for long periods of time in one place.Preferred Qualifications Flexibility/adaptability to changeTakes responsibilityKnowledge of safe food handling practicesBeing able to work evenings and weekendsEqual Employment Opportunity Statement All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, citizenship, age, disability or protected veteran status.Physical Demands Must be able to move up to 25 pounds.Work Hours•Must be able to work varied shifts, weeknights (until 10 PM) and weekends•During the school year domestic student employees may not work more than 29 hours per work week, and international student employees may not work more than 20 hours per work week•During school breaks, between semesters, and during summer semester, all student employees are permitted to work up to 40 hours per work week.Work Location Kellogg Center (Loc)Posting Detail Information Posting Number 20155114P Open Date 09/03/2025 Close Date 09/17/2025 Open Until Filled No Special Instructions for Applicant N/AApplicant Availability Form
