Job Description: This position assists the radiologist and other physicians with high-quality, computerized tomographic and radiographic images required for the diagnosis and treatment of patients, while ensuring the least amount of radiation exposure to both oneself and the patient. Provides general care to the patient while in the department. (35%) Performs computer tomography studies following protocol. Is able to differentiate between normal and abnormal anatomy and will tailor exams in accordance with patient history obtained, protocol, and the Radiologist's instruction. (30%) Administers IV and oral contrast as required for procedures, following established protocols. Follows departmental protocol and institution guidelines for delivery of IV contrast material. Monitors patients' physical and mental condition throughout the entire procedures. Records all patient data accurately and appropriately. (20%) Provides radiation protection for patients, self and others using gonadal shielding and collimation where applicable. Document acknowledgment of scheduling as directed. (15%) Performs nursing duties, including but not limited to the following: assisting the radiologist in the performance of sterile procedures, practicing sterile technique, obtaining vital signs, obtaining pertinent clinical history, and being proficient in venous puncture. Will document any and all important data appropriately. Will be able to identify an allergic reaction or any other urgent medical condition and will notify and assist the radiologist in the treatment of such a situation. Requirements:
2+ years of Experience - Required RRT and BLS (AHA) - Required Certification Requirements:
